We ventured to Virginia on Sunday. Specifically, we went to Alexandria, and to the Torpedo Factory. As the photo shows: torpedo factory now an arts center. I guess that’s “swords into plowshares” for the industrial and post-industrial ages. We enjoyed the post-industrial plowshares and setting.
It was a lovely, sunny, snowy without snow on the roads, day for the drive down from Wheaton to Alexandria. We had fish and chips at the Fish Market – or rather, three of the four of us did. It was good, but not as good as the same dish at Boston’s Barking Crab. On the other hand, the brunch dish that the fourth person had and enjoyed doesn’t have a barking counterpart.
