Wheaton Library to Stay

Today I actually got some news from a newspaper: the Wheaton Gazette, which gets delivered every week. As an unsolicited paper object (UPO?) it’s less unwelcome than the telephone directories that Verizon inflict upon us.

The news is that Wheaton Library will stay at its current location. I regard that as good news, since I see nothing wrong with the library in its current location. I think of downtown Wheaton as a separate issue: one that needs attention, but not one that is a good reason to uproot the library.

This blog looks a little different here, on a public PC running IE7, rather than Chrome like at home. In particular, the more recent images aren’t over to the right, leaving room for text to the left. Checking, it seems that the recent posts used align=, which IE ignored, whereas the older posts used class=, which IE respected. I’m geeky enough to check and (try to) fix that, but not enough to look into correct browser behavior.

Rockville library is lovely. I must come back here with a real camera some day.

Not in Boston Any More

I don’t remember any libraries with Thai restaurants sort of embedded in them in Boston. Certainly not in Roslindale or West Roxbury, anyway…

Aspen Hill Library

This isn’t the first post I made to this blog. It appears first because I made the note before I started the blog – indeed, before I started the WanderNote site. The note was actually a snapshot, taken with the Android camera. I’m doing image alignment and text in WordPress.

On Tuesday, my 3yo son Max and I went to storytime at the Aspen Hill library. One of the many things we’re enjoying about our new stomping grounds is the Montgomery County (Maryland) library system.
